How to use Dropmysite for data backup

The following elements may be managed using the Dropmysite cPanel plugin, as explained in this article.

  • backups of websites.

  • backups of databases.

  • backup emails.

Do I have to set up any backups?

  • Backups for websites: Dropmysite sets up a backup for your account automatically. You may make customized site backups if you'd like, but no further setup is necessary.

  • Backups for Databases: Any MySQL and PostgreSQL databases you build with cPanel will have backups set up automatically by
    Dropmysite.
However, you will need to manually set up a database backup if you install an application using Softaculous or if you have it
installed automatically with your original hosting purchase.

  • Backups for Email: Dropmysite automatically sets up an email backup for your account when you buy it with your first hosting order. There is no need for further setup.
However, you will need to manually set up an email backup if you subsequently add Dropmysite to your account.

Backups of websites

Normally, you don't need to make a manual website backup since Dropmysite automatically creates a backup (called Website Backup) of your full home directory. However, if you'd like, you may manually generate backups of particular folders and subdirectories.
